Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The singer has been able to make major international progress into the Latin pop mainstream. In 2016, his hit Una Lady Como Tu was the recipient of a Colombian Kids Choice Award for Most Popular Song in 2017. The singer released his first long-player ADN to the Medellin-based company Sony, which is distributed by La Industria Inc. It peaked at 8 spots on the Top Latin Albums charts. The following year, he teamed up with Ozuna for the creation of Vaina Loca and it was a Top Five hit. In 2020, he dropped the chart-topping sophomore album Dopamina and also collaborated on Mala Influencia together with Noriel. Then in 2021, he sang an duet with TINI's streaming smash single Maldita Foto. The smash hit La Bachata from 2000 was released in 2023. Turizo is a product of a musical household the mother of his younger brother and father are musicians. In interviews he has described his involvement in music as mandatory. When he was a kid, he began learning how to play the ukulele, saxophone as well as piano. His first career choice was to be a veterinarian, but his brother Julian was able to convince him how to sing under an instructor from a Cuban instructor. In the end, learning that he possessed the ability to sing, altered the trajectory of his life.
